This 4 week introduction to yoga series will help you develop or build on your knowledge of yoga and focus on:
[ Breathing techniques - Pranayama
[ Increasing the flexibility of the spine
[ Improve your range of motion of your joints
[ Increase your core strength
[ Increase leg stamina – standing poses
[ Increase balance and focus
[ Improve relaxation and ability to sleep
[ Decrease stiffness and pain
[ Increase body awareness
This is the perfect class for a student who is either new to yoga or looking to return to the basics. Each student will be encouraged to work within their own capacity. At the end of the program, each student will know the basics of pranayama (breathing techniques) and alignment principles of standing, seated, prone, supine and balance poses. In addition, each student will be familiar with the Yoga Shala studio and the props that we offer and have information regarding the type of classes that the studio has to offer and feel completely at ease attending other yoga classes.
